Hello!  My name is Janice L. Vance, and I am the founder and visionary for "The Marriage Major". 

I am an Author, Women Inspirational Coach, Certified Lady J Coach and a Certified Travel Agent.

I am an Inspirational Marriage Coach that inspires married women to not have a Surviving Marriage but to have a Thriving Marriage!

I also Coach Engage Women on preparing for their Marriage before preparing for their Wedding.

       I also Coach Single Women that are in her Season of Waiting on God to send her husband to be busy about the things of God,           Loving themselves and to not compromise!

When seeking God on what to name my Coaching Business, I began to reflect on my own journey in marriage and realized that I am still Majoring and   have not graduated. Therefore, I came up with the name “The Marriage Major”

 The Marriage Major is founded upon Godly principles, which I strongly encourage, because it is the foundation of a healthy marriage. I have been married for forty-five years to my Junior High School Sweetheart (Vilgil) whom I affectionately call "Bae"…yes, you did hear me correctly...my Junior High School Sweetheart!  I thank God for blessing me with a wonderful husband, and I do not say that lightly.  He Is Wonderful! He is definitely my soulmate, and a leader by example.  Vilgil is a great husband, father, grandfather and he love the Lord.

It is certainly true that if you keep your marriage before God, he will definitely bless it. God has blessed us with two adorable children:  Brian and La'Miracle, and five grandchildren, Terrell (TJ),  Ja'Liyah, Micah, Ethan and Aiden which I call my Five Heartbeats.   I get so excited when I say that I have children and grandchildren, because I have had several doctors tell me that the possibility of having children, for me, was very slim.  

I retired over ten years ago from The United States Bankruptcy Court, after thirty years of service.   I loved my job but was thankful to be retiring.  

I began to seek God for my God-Given Purpose.  How many know that when God brings that thing you are most passionate about out of you…all you can say, is "Yes Lord!"  

I know that I was created by God on Purpose for A Purpose!  

I promise to be as transparent as possible in helping others make their marriage better.  I thank God that as a child, I was raised by both parents that loved people.  Our house was the house that everyone wanted to be, because my parents showed so much love.  I am blessed with three amazing siblings.  I gained a great passion for family, and personally learned the importance of it after becoming a bride at a very young age.  In my early thirties, I knew my authentic purpose, but did not have a road map to bring it about. I am thankful for the coaching that I am continuing to receive from Dr. Jevonnah  Ellison, also known as Lady J, who gave me a road map to get unstuck, and to walk in my purpose. She is the founder of Maximum Potential Academy (MPA)  where  I got started.   She is also the founder of "The Thrive Mastermind" I experience incredible success as an entrepreneur where I am presently enrolled.   The Thrive Mastermind is an intimate group of entrepreneurs and leaders who are committed to consistent growth and keeping God 1st in Business.   I am grateful that God has afforded me the opportunity of fulfilling my passion.
